The underwater museum before Lanzarote is ready

A unique project has been officially completed some two years after the launching and a year after its inauguration: the underwater museum on Lanzarote has been given to the public with great attention and two very special divers.

In front of Playa Las Coloradas near Yaiza in the south-west of Lanzarotes, the first submarine museum of the Canary Islands is now 12 to 15 meters deep. This place had been specially chosen by the responsible persons, as the water is very shallow at this point and is so clear that even swimmers and visitors can admire the sculptures from the boat.

In total, the Underwater Museum before Lanzarote now comprises 300 works spread over twelve installations. The largest of these is a wall weighing about 100 tonnes and 30 meters long. 35 figures cross a door in it. This symbolizes the Porte from the Canaries to the Atlantic Ocean
